We’ve been inspired by many companies doing serious philanthropic work around the world. So, when we set out to reintroduce GoLite, we knew we wanted to play a significant role in this movement.
Global Health Support
Before relaunching GoLite, we gave over 12,000 pieces of clothing to global health workers in Uganda. Yes, we are doing business differently. We worked with Medical Teams International to develop a uniform program to protect global health workers in the field. Now there are thousands of health workers in Uganda, wearing the uniforms we designed and made for them while they treat the hundreds of thousands refugees. This is just our first project.
What’s left after we make our clothes is just the beginning for others. Our way of repurposing fabric is empowering people to independently support their families. Utilizing the micro-enterprise model, we are working to help people create small, sustainable businesses by putting excess fabrics into their hands. These materials enable communities to sew a future from what used to be waste. GoAid™ is not a handout, it’s a way up.
